Presidents Day

Presidents Day was yesterday and it really got me thinking about past Presidents that fought for our rights in this country. The first President that came to mind was George Washington. He was such a great leader, he really cared about his country and strived to be his best for the people of America. I went online and found an official biography about George Washington from the White House. After reading this biography the thing that stood out the most to me was that it was a unanimous vote electing him as President! That is really amazing to me that the people trusted him that much to put their country in his hands. He wrote to James Madison saying, "it is devoutly wished on my part, that these precedents may be fixed on true principles." This statement means to me that he is ready to be President and he's ready to be a truthful President. The link for the biography is below.
